Introduction:
The magnetic powder brake is a combination of a transmission unit (input shaft) and a driven unit (output shaft). The space between the two sets of cells is filled with granular magnetic powder (recessed about 40 microns). When the magnetic coil is not conductive, the torque will not be transmitted from the transmission shaft to the driven shaft. However, if the coil is electromagnetically energized, the magnetic powder will attract hardening due to the action of the magnetic force, and the torque will be transmitted between successive sliding. The powder brake is an excellent automatic control element. It uses magnetic powder as the working medium and uses the excitation current as the control means to achieve the purpose of controlling braking or transmitting torque. The output torque has a good linear relationship with the excitation powder current and is independent of the rotational speed or slip, and has the advantages of fast response speed and simple structure.
