Air Expansion Shaft Air Leakage Inspection Method

- Sep 08, 2023-

Checking for Lug Type Air Expanding Shaft is an important step in ensuring smooth and efficient operation. Here are some positive and proactive steps to take when checking for air leakage:

1. Visual Inspection: Begin by conducting a visual inspection of the entire keyed inflating shaft looking for any visible signs of air leakage such as cracks, splits, or tears in the rubber or other damage to the shaft. Check both the outside and inside of the shaft for any abnormalities.

2. Soap and Water Test: Create a mixture of soapy water and apply it onto the entire length of the keyed inflating shaft. This will help identify any possible holes or leaks. If you detect bubbles forming up on the surface of the shaft, it signifies that air is escaping.

3. Pressure Check: Use a pressure gauge to measure the air pressure of the inflating shaft. Check the levels at regular intervals and monitor for any sudden fluctuations or drops in pressure. If there is a significant drop in air pressure, it may indicate a leakage in the shaft.

4. End Cap Inspection: The end caps of the shaft are important in maintaining the air seal. Check and ensure that they are properly affixed and tightened. Inspect the end caps for any wear and tear or visible signs of damage.

By regularly performing these checks, you can prevent any potential damage or disruption caused by core expension shaft.
