How To Properly Maintain The Safety Chuck

Safety chuck is an important part of machine tools and other equipment, usually need to pay more attention to maintenance and maintenance, its correct maintenance can extend the service life, improve work efficiency, and even avoid accidents. Here's how to properly maintain your safety chuck:

 

1. Regular inspection: The safety chuck must be inspected after each period of use. Inspections include issues such as damage, wear and tear, and loose fittings.

 

2. Cleaning and lubrication:

  • Before using the new safety air chuck, it should be cleaned once to remove surface dirt, dust and grease. During long-term use, cleaning and lubrication maintenance should also be done.
  • At least once a day, spray molybdenum disulfide grease (color is black) and drive the grease into the chuck nipple until the grease spills out of the jaw surface or the inner hole of the chuck (the inner hole, the protective sleeve and the connecting nut).
  • The chuck is cleaned at least once every 6 months to keep the gripper sliding surface clean and lubricated.
  • Cut cast iron to clean thoroughly at least once every 2 months

3. To prevent rust, it is best to use cutting oil with anti-rust effect, which can prevent rust inside the chuck.


4. Pay attention to protection: During use, pay attention to protecting the surface of the safety chuck for labeling machine and the precision components inside the machinery. Do not use sharp or hard objects to hit the surface to avoid damage. When a chuck clearance is found to be too large, a new chuck must be replaced immediately.
