Tension Controllers Can Be Used In All Areas Related To Coil Handling

Tension controllers produce strip and wire products in the industrial control industry. Tension controllers often need to control tension to meet production requirements. Tension controllers are instruments that control this type of tension. The tension controller can set the tension value to be controlled, and the tension sensor feedback signal is compared and processed, and output to the brake clutch control. The tension controller can also be used in all fields related to coil processing.

The tension controller is in the process of winding or unwinding. When the winding diameter changes to a certain stage, the operator adjusts the manual power supply device to achieve the purpose of controlling the tension. However, the modern gravure press manual tension control system has been basically eliminated, and only exists as a mode of operation in the closed-loop automatic tension control system.

Basic structure of tension controller

A typical tension control system consists mainly of a tension controller, a tension reader, a tension detector, a magnetic powder brake and a clutch. According to the loop, it can be divided into open loop, closed loop or free loop tension control system; according to the monitoring method of different coils, it can be divided into ultrasonic type, floating type, tracking arm type and so on.

The stability of tension control is directly related to the quality of the slitting product. If the tension is insufficient, the raw material will drift during operation, and the finished paper will wrinkle after slitting and rewinding; if the tension is too large, the raw material will be easily broken, so that the finished paper breaks after slitting and rewinding.

The tension controller can measure the actual tension of the coil and control the tension of the coil by automatically adjusting the excitation current of the clutch or brake according to the set target tension and the measured tension after PID calculation. The fully automatic tension controller has extremely high tension control accuracy and is suitable for use in applications where the tension control accuracy is high.

The tension controller is composed of a high-speed microprocessor and a high-power switching power supply. It can work in three modes: constant current, constant voltage, constant power (constant torque), and can automatically compensate the thermal attenuation of the clutch/brake. The torque output is stable and reliable.
