Brake Clearance Self-adjusting

When the brake shoe is in the original position of the task, there should be a suitable gap between the friction plate and the brake drum. The set value is set by the automobile manufacturer, and is generally between 0.25 and 0.5 sisters. The 1 gap in the friction pair of the magnetic powder brake (hereinafter referred to as the brake gap) is assumed to be too small, so that the brakes are not completely exhausted, causing the friction pair to be towed; if too large, the brake pedal road is too long, and the driver monopolizes. It's easy, and it will delay the time when the brakes are swollen and the infection is moving. However, in the course of the brake mission, the inexhaustible wear of the friction lining will result in a gradual increase in the brake clearance. When the environment is in an emergency, even if the brake pedal is stepped on the lower limit position, there is no sufficient energy source. At present, most of the cars are equipped with self-adjusting brake clearance, and some trucks still reject manual adjustment.

Brake gap adjustment is a critical pattern in car maintenance and patching. According to the difference of mission process, the magnetic powder clutch can be divided into one calibration mode and one step type.

The picture on the right is a friction limit-type gap self-adjusting installation in the brake wheel cylinder. The limit friction ring 2 for restricting the inner limit position of the brake shoe when not braking is installed in the ring groove of the wheel cylinder piston 3, and the width of the ring groove or the spiral groove on the piston is greater than the thickness of the limit friction ring . The maximum axial displacement of the piston with respect to the friction ring is the gap between the two. The clearance should be the wheel cylinder piston path required to perform a thorough brake when the brake clearance is at the set specification.

When braking, the wheel cylinder piston moves outward. If the magnetic powder brake gap increases beyond the set value due to various reasons, the piston can not be completely braked when it is moved to 0, but only the wheel cylinder is used to fix the piston. Together with the friction ring, it is continuously pushed out until a complete brake is achieved. What is the reason, when the brake is released, the brake shoe can only be revitalized until the piston engages with the new position limit friction ring, that is, the brake clearance is the set value.
