The farthest point of the axial stress of the drum is the stress concentration zone, that is, the deformation of the outermost edge portion of the drum is the largest. Therefore, when the speed of the belt conveyor is constant, the belt running efficiency is increased by increasing the traction force, which will inevitably increase the speed of the belt, the pressure directly increases, the torque acting on the drum also increases sharply, and the belt conveyor is subjected to long-term pressure. The effect is that the overall deformation of the drum is fracturing, such as breakage of the solder joint, axial breakage of the web or radial break, for the following reasons:
 
1) When the belt conveyor starts, the tension is maximum, and the tension is proportional to the driving force, which causes the pressure of the drum to increase rapidly in a short time. At the same time, the rotation acceleration reaches the maximum when the drum starts, which causes the torque on the drum to increase instantaneously, which leads to Deformation of the drum, causing fracturing;
 
2 drum due to its own steel quality problems or design problems;
 
3) There are defects in the post-weld treatment, resulting in insufficient overall tensile strength of the drum, and pressure is concentrated at the weld, and fracturing occurs.
2 treatment measures
 
1) Strictly grasp the design and standardize the roller type design.
2 Use qualified high-quality steel to ensure the quality of drum casting.
 
3) Innovative roller support design, such as increasing the thickness of the drum design, and providing reinforcing ribs along the axial direction of the drum on the drum side to improve the overall support strength.
 
4 Strengthen on-site maintenance and post-maintenance, and select original spare parts.
5) Strict regular maintenance.
Study the basic structure of the drum, deeply analyze the stress of each component in each area, clarify the stress distribution and prevention focus of the roller surface during load operation, obtain the best working condition parameters, redesign and carry out the ground and underground experiment, on-site The test is consistent with the research results; at the same time, the treatment measures for the drum design are proposed.
