Fixed caliper brake

- Jan 21, 2019-

Fixed caliper disc brakes. The caliper body 5 spanned on the brake disc 1 is fixedly mounted on the axle 6, which cannot rotate or move in the direction of the axis of the brake disc, and the two pistons 2 therein are respectively located on the brake disc 1 side. When braking, the brake fluid is fed into the two communicating hydraulic chambers of the caliper body through the oil inlet 4 through the brake master cylinder (the master cylinder), and the brake blocks 3 on both sides are pressed to the fixed connection with the wheel. The brake disc 1 thus generates a brake.

The brake has the following disadvantages: more cylinders make the brake caliper more complicated; the cylinders are placed on both sides of the brake disc and must be connected by an internal oil passage or an external oil pipe that spans the brake disc, which makes the brake The size of the clamp is too large to be installed in the rim of a modern car; when the heat load is large, the cylinder and the brake fluid in the oil pipe or oil passage across the brake disc are easily vaporized; if it is to be used for parking brake, it must be Install a mechanically actuated parking brake caliper.
