Rollers are important components of belt conveyors, with many types and large quantities. It accounts for 35% of the total cost of a belt conveyor and withstands more than 70% of the resistance, so the quality of the rollers is particularly important.
The role of the rollers is to support the conveyor belt and material weight. The roller must be flexible and reliable. Reducing the friction between the conveyor belt and the idler roller plays a key role in the life of the conveyor belt, which accounts for more than 25% of the total cost of the conveyor. Although the idler is a small part in the belt conveyor and the structure is not complicated, it is not easy to manufacture a high quality roller.
The criteria for judging the quality of the rollers are as follows: the amount of radial runout of the idler; the flexibility of the idler; the amount of axial turbulence.
How the roller works
The roller drives the roller tube body, the bearing seat and the bearing outer ring and the sealing ring to rotate by the friction between the conveyor belt and the idler roller, and realizes the transmission of the logistics together with the conveyor belt.
Roller use and operation
1. Before using the roller, carefully check the appearance for serious bump damage. The rotating roller should be flexible and free from jamming.
2. The installation distance of the idler should be determined scientifically according to the type of logistics and the characteristics of the conveyor. Avoid excessive or excessive installation.
3. The roller installation should be adapted to avoid mutual friction.
Roller classification
1. According to the material, it is divided into rubber roller, ceramic roller, nylon roller and insulated roller.
2. There are mainly grooved roller sets, various types of parallel roller sets, various types of self-aligning roller sets, and various types of buffer roller sets.
(1) Grooved idler has ordinary type roller, forward-tilt type idler, quick-change bearing type idler, hanging type idler, three-chain idler, reversible idler, variable-angle angle type idler, transition type Roller, V-roller, etc.;

Factors affecting the quality of the roller

Roller maintenance and repair
1. The normal service life of the roller is more than 20000h, generally no maintenance is required. However, according to the size of the place of use and the load, the corresponding maintenance date should be established, the oil filling maintenance should be timely cleaned, and the floating coal should be cleaned in time. Replace the rollers with abnormal sound and non-rotation in time.
2. When replacing the bearing, the bearing cage opening must be made outward. After the bearing is loaded into the roller, the proper clearance should be maintained and the pressure should not be crushed.
3. The labyrinth seals shall be made of original parts, and shall be separately loaded into the rollers during assembly, and shall not be assembled together.
4. When using the middle roller, the heavy object should be prevented from hitting the roller body.
5. To ensure the sealing performance and performance of the roller, it is forbidden to disassemble the roller at will.
