What Are The Friction Requirements For Magnetic Powder Clutches?

- Sep 03, 2020-

Magnetic powder clutches use magnetic powder to transmit torque. Its transmission torque is basically linear with the excitation current. It can transmit a certain torque regardless of slip, and has the advantages of fast response speed, simple structure, no pollution, no noise, no shock and vibration, and energy saving. It is a multi-purpose and excellent automatic control component. Magnetic powder clutch manufacturers use magnetic powder as the medium of friction clutches. In addition, the fixed output products are magnetic powder brakes. The operational functions of the magnetic powder clutch and the magnetic powder brake are in common, except that the magnetic powder clutch has an additional input shaft in the shape.

The friction of the magnetic powder clutch should meet the requirements of being able to complete separation when it is separated, soft when engaging, and have good heat dissipation ability; it has the ability to alleviate the impact in the rolling direction, attenuate the oscillation in this direction, and have low noise. The rolling inertia of the driven part of the magnetic powder brake manufacturer should be as small as possible. In this way, the speed of the part connected to the input shaft of the transmission is easier to change when the clutch is shifted, thereby reducing the impact between gears. The operation is labor-saving and the maintenance is convenient.

The friction plates of magnetic powder clutches and brakes wear after long-term use, which causes the gap between the electromagnet and the armature to increase, the length of the compression spring is extended, and the elastic force is reduced, causing slippage. At this time, due to the increase of the gap, not only the pull-in voltage of the armature coil increases, but also the armature cannot be pulled in, which may easily burn other electrical components. The change of the conflict coefficient between the pressure plate pressure and the friction plate is small, and the operation is stable. If the starting distance adjustment of the automatic tension controller is too large, the coil voltage will increase during the clutch operation, which will easily burn the rectifier bridge or clutch coil. If the braking distance is adjusted too small, so that the conflict sheet cannot be completely disengaged, resulting in increased motor load or belt slippage, and the mechanical part can work normally.
