The eddy current brake is an excellent automatic control element that uses the principle of eddy current loss to absorb power. Its output torque has a good linear relationship with the excitation current. And has the advantages of fast response and simple structure. The principle of eddy current loss is used to absorb power. A set of dynamometer consisting of an eddy current brake, a controller and a sensor can measure the output torque and the rotational speed of the machine under test, thereby obtaining power. In some cases, it can replace magnetic powder, hydraulic dynamometer, DC generator set, etc. Used to measure the performance of various electric motors, diesel engines, gearboxes and other power machinery.
The main features of the eddy current brake are:
1. The linear relationship between torque and excitation current is good, suitable for automatic control;
2. Simple structure, stable operation, low price, convenient use and maintenance;
3, using water cooling, low noise, low vibration;
4, the input speed range is wide, can be used for type testing of various types of motors and power machinery such as frequency conversion speed regulation;
5. The controller uses DC power supply and the control power is small.
Eddy current brakes are widely used in the loading of dynamometers. When measuring the torque, speed, power, efficiency, current, voltage and power factor of the motor, internal combustion engine, gearbox reducer and transmission machinery, the eddy current brake is used as the analog loader.
