Precautions For Installation And Use Of Tension Sensor

- Nov 26, 2019-

In order to ensure the accuracy of the tension sensor, there are still some problems in the process of installation and use. Attention should be paid to the following details when installing and using the tension sensor to ensure the accuracy and service life of the tension sensor:

1. Handle the tension sensor lightly, especially for small-capacity sensors that use alloy aluminum as an elastomer. Any shock or drop caused by vibration is likely to cause a large output error.

2. When designing the loading device and installation, ensure that the line of action of the loading force coincides with the force axis of the tension sensor to minimize the effects of tilting and eccentric loads.

3. In terms of level adjustment. If a single tension sensor is used, the mounting surface of the base must be adjusted with a spirit level until it is level; if multiple sensors are measuring at the same time, the mounting surface of their base should be kept as horizontal as possible. The main purpose is to ensure that the strength of each sensor is basically the same.

4. According to the range selection of the tension sensor in its description, determine the rated load of the sensor used.

5. The mounting surface of the base of the sensor should be as flat and clean as possible, without any oil or glue film. The mounting base itself should have sufficient strength and rigidity, and usually requires higher strength and stiffness than the sensor itself.

6. The sensor housing, protective cover and lead connector are sealed, and users are not allowed to open it.

7. To prevent chemical corrosion. Vaseline should be used to coat the outer surface of the tension sensor during installation. Avoid using the platform in direct sunlight and sudden changes in ambient temperature

8. Protective or mitigation devices should be installed when unavoidable.

9. In order to prevent large current from directly flowing through the sensor body and damaging the sensor, it is forbidden to perform electric welding after the sensor is installed.

10. Add a copper braided bypass at both ends of the tension sensor loading device.

11. The cable should not be lengthened by itself. When it is really necessary to lengthen, it should be soldered at the joint and add moisture-proof sealant.

12. It is best to cover the sensor with some baffles around the tension sensor. The purpose of this is to prevent foreign objects from falling into the moving part of the sensor, affecting its measurement accuracy.

13. The cable of the sensor should be far away from the strong power line or the place with pulse wave. When it is unavoidable, the cable of the tension sensor should be put into the iron pipe separately, and the connection distance should be shortened as much as possible.

14. Determine the rated load of the used sensor according to the tension sensor range selection in its description. Although the tension sensor itself has a certain overload capacity, it should be avoided as much as possible during installation and use. Sometimes short-term overload can also cause permanent damage to the sensor.

15. In high precision applications, the tension sensor and meter should be used after 30 minutes warm-up.

16. The sensor should be placed in a dry, ventilated and non-corrosive gas room.

Installation and use of tension sensors should pay attention to these details, why some users use the sensor is not easy to break for a long time, while some users have never experienced problems, which is related to the precautions of the sensor installation and use, After reading the introduction above, you may know it.
