As we all know, when processing rubber in Dongguan rubber products, the first step is to plasticize the rubber, which can ensure that the rubber has better plasticity in the subsequent processing steps. However, different rubber types have different plasticizing characteristics, so what are they? Next, Dongguan Zhuoshi Rubber will introduce the plasticizing characteristics of six common rubbers.
1.Styrene butadiene rubber
The initial Mooney viscosity of soft styrene-butadiene rubber is generally between 54 and 64, and no plasticizing is required.
The styrene-butadiene rubber in the raw materials of Dongguan rubber products is not effective in mechanical plasticizing. The more effective method is high-temperature plasticizing. The best temperature is 130 ~ 140 ℃, and the gel is easily formed when the temperature is too high.
2.Butyl rubber
Generally, varieties with Mooney viscosity between 38 and 75 do not need to be plasticized.
Butyl rubber has little effect on mechanical plasticizing, but it can achieve better plasticizing effect by using an internal mixer above 120 ° C and adding a peptizing agent for high-temperature plasticizing.
3.Natural rubber
Natural rubber is relatively easy to plasticize, and different plastics have different plasticity characteristics.
The initial Mooney viscosity of tobacco sheet rubber is relatively high, and it must be plasticized to obtain proper plasticity. Natural rubber of the SMR series has a low initial Mooney viscosity and generally does not need to be plasticized.
Natural rubber is plasticized by an open mill. Generally, low temperature is used, and the thin-pass plasticizing effect is good. When plasticizing with an internal mixer, the temperature should be below 155 ° C.
When natural rubber is plasticized, chemical peptizing agents are often added to improve the plasticizing effect.
4.Nitrile rubber
The plasticizing of nitrile rubber should use an open mill at low temperature, small roll pitch and low capacity. Generally, it is not suitable to use an open mill to plasticize, but nitrile rubber is easy to form a gel.
5.Neoprene rubber
The initial Mooney viscosity of the neoprene rubber in Dongguan rubber products is low, and generally no plasticization is required. However, its plasticity decreases during storage, so neoprene still needs to be plasticized to obtain the required plasticity.
Chloroprene rubber should be plasticized by using an open mill.
6, butadiene rubber
Neoprene generally does not need to be plasticized.
The above are the six more commonly used plasticizing characteristics of rubber. When plasticizing different rubbers, we must pay attention to the plasticizing characteristics of rubber, otherwise it will cause troublesome results.
