When the coil is not energized, the active rotor rotates. Due to the centrifugal force, the magnetic powder is clamped on the inner wall of the active rotor. There is no contact between the magnetic powder and the driven rotor. The active rotor is idling, and the magnetic powder brake generates electromagnetic field after being connected to the DC power supply. The working medium magnetic powder forms a magnetic powder chain under the action of magnetic lines of force, and connects the inner rotor and the outer rotor to achieve the purpose of transmitting and braking torque.

Magnetic powder brake use precautions

1. When the hollow shaft magnetic powder brake and the clutch are used for continuous sliding of winding and unwinding, the product and life may vary depending on the conditions of use (relative sliding speed, etc.). However, in general, the life of iron powder in reducing the rated torque in the constant current is about 4500 to 7500 hours. However, in some cases, it is not available for the rated torque, so it can be used continuously and the life can be extended. However, even if the sliding operation rate is the same, the sliding rotation speed, that is, the relative rotation speed is continuously high, the life tends to be reduced. Therefore, it is necessary to reduce the relative rotation speed at the time of setting.
2. In order to prolong the life of the iron powder, it is also a way to allow the sliding work rate to be sufficient when used. For example, if it is used at 50% of the allowable sliding operation rate, the life expectancy can be extended to double. 3. If the driven member is used as the input side, it will continue to idle for a long time, and the iron powder will be stirred, and the life will be greatly reduced. Please try to avoid this method. If it is unavoidable in any way, please set the current to weak excitation when using.
4. When operating at low speed (16 RPM or less), it will produce stable stable torque characteristics for continuous operation such as tension control. However, in the case of intermittent rotation with idling, after the voltage is applied, the start of the torque may be delayed, and this situation may not be avoided. Please use it as described below.
5. Please pay attention to the input side and the output side, and use the iron powder brake clutch with the regular installation method (the adjustment rotating side is used as the input side). If the mechanical structure has to be installed on the side and back, please use it at 1000r/min or less. In addition, the continuous idling of multi-connected multi-axis, turret winding and so on is a higher speed rotation of the reverse side of the input and output side, which is not conducive to the torque characteristics and the service life of the iron powder, so it is not recommended. In addition, the brakes and clutches are used in principle on the horizontal axis and cannot be used in the vertical type.
6. Please pay attention to moisture. If the internal iron powder gets wet, the performance will become unstable, so be careful not to let oil or moisture invade the inside. In particular, when the gearbox is installed, the oil will penetrate into the inside through the shaft, so the film is completely sealed.
7. Please pay attention to the surface temperature and the maximum surface temperature caused by continuous operation. The highest TJ-POD and TJ-POC operation are below 90 °C. When this value is exceeded, the durability will be greatly reduced. Please use the manufacturer's standard as the limit, and be sure to keep it within the allowable sliding working frequency.
