The magnetic powder brake is a new type of transmission element that uses magnetic powder as a medium to form a magnetic powder chain to transmit torque according to the electromagnetic principle and the use of magnetic powder to transmit torque. When the coil is not energized, the active rotor rotates. Due to the centrifugal force, the magnetic powder is clamped on the inner wall of the active rotor, and there is no contact between the magnetic powder and the driven rotor, and the active rotor idles. After the DC power supply is turned on, an electromagnetic field is generated, and the magnetic powder of the working medium forms a magnetic powder chain under the action of the magnetic force line, and the inner rotor and the outer rotor are coupled to achieve the purpose of transmitting and braking torque. The output torque of the magnetic powder brake has a good linear relationship with the excitation powder current and is independent of the rotational speed or slip, and has the advantages of fast response speed and simple structure.
The installation and use points of the magnetic powder brake are explained as follows:
1. The magnetic powder brake uses DC power as the excitation power source.
2. The magnetic powder brake drive shaft is horizontally installed; the installation accuracy of the drive shaft and the coupling is H8/f8; it is forbidden to tap the assembly with a hammer; the installation coaxiality of the transmission shaft and the shaft to which it is butted is +0.03mm.
3. During the transportation process, the magnetic powder brake often causes the magnetic powder to gather somewhere, and there may be a “catch-up” phenomenon. The brake can be turned over as a whole to loosen the magnetic powder or use a lever to move.
4. The water-cooled magnetic powder brake is operated after passing through the water, and no water operation is allowed (water pressure 1.5~3kg/cm2). The inlet and outlet pipes should be distributed up and down, the inlet pipe is at the bottom, and the outlet pipe is at the top.
5. The magnetic powder brake does not support the installation method that uses the radial bearing main drive force.
6. Before the magnetic powder brake is used for the first time, it is connected with 30% of the rated current. After running for 10 seconds, the power is turned off and then energized, and repeated several times to ensure the fluidity and uniform distribution of the magnetic powder.
7. The magnetic powder brake can not be used with excessive torque and speed. Otherwise, the life of the magnetic powder will drop sharply, or powder leakage and jamming will occur.
