Tension Controller With Extremely High Tension Control Accuracy

The tension controller can measure the actual tension of the coil and control the tension of the coil by automatically adjusting the excitation current of the clutch or brake according to the set target tension and the measured tension after PID calculation. The fully automatic tension controller has extremely high tension control accuracy and is suitable for use in applications where the tension control accuracy is high.

The tension controller is composed of a high-speed microprocessor and a high-power switching power supply. It can work in three modes: constant current, constant voltage, constant power (constant torque), and can automatically compensate the thermal attenuation of the clutch/brake. The torque output is stable and reliable.

The tension controller measures the tension of the web by a tension sensor, and then the controller automatically adjusts the clutch or brake to control the tension of the web. This method is a full-closed control of the tension, which reflects the change in tension in real time and therefore has the highest control accuracy.

The tension controller is designed for the printing press. It has two outputs for pre-starting automatic shaft change of the duplexer of the printing press, and has automatic cutting and cutting output function.

Tension control system composition and working principle

A typical tension control system consists mainly of a tension controller, a tension reader, a tension detector, a magnetic powder brake and a clutch. According to the loop, it can be divided into open loop, closed loop or free loop tension control system; according to the monitoring method of different coils, it can be divided into ultrasonic type, floating type, tracking arm type and so on. The stability of tension control is directly related to the quality of the slitting product. If the tension is insufficient, the raw material will drift during operation, and the finished paper will wrinkle after slitting and rewinding; if the tension is too large, the raw material will be easily broken, so that the finished paper breaks after slitting and rewinding.

Tension control system works:

The coil stationary magnetic powder clutch and the magnetic powder brake are automatic devices that control the input current to change the output transition. When the coil is not energized, the input shaft rotates, and the magnetic powder is pressed against the inner wall of the clamp ring by the centrifugal force, and the output shaft is not in contact with the input shaft. At this time, it is in an idling state. When the coil is energized, the magnetic powder generates a magnetic flux under the action of the magnetic force line, so that the output shaft and the input shaft become a rigid body and rotate, and a slip occurs when the overload occurs, and the working state is at this time. Thereby achieving the purpose of transmitting torque.
