Recently, an old customer from Denmark reported to us that the performance of the magnetic powder brakes they bought in our factory was not as well as when it was new, and asked our technical department to give suggestions on how to restore its performance.
In response to this problem, we have given a suggestion: replace the magnetic particles. I believe that many factories that use magnetic particle brakes or magnetic clutches have faced the same problem, so for the case of magnetic particle brakes and magnetic clutches that need to be replaced, as a manufacturer of magnetic particle brakes and magnetic clutches with more than 20 years of experience, it is necessary to provide the following answers about the relationship between magnetic particles and magnetic particle brakes (magnetic particle clutches).

 

What is the significance of magnetic powder for magnetic particle brakes and clutches, and how does magnetic powder affect the operation of magnetic particle clutches and magnetic particle brakes?
Magnetic particle brakes and clutches mainly rely on magnetic particles to transmit torque, and their service life is directly related to the use of magnetic powder. And magnetic powder is a consumable,Therefore, its service life directly affects the operation and performance of the entire magnetic particle brake, including the subsequent production work. The service life of the magnetic powder is directly affected by the operating time, load, temperature (the surface can not exceed 90 degrees Celsius) and frequency of the magnetic particle brake. The longer the operation, the higher the temperature inside and on the surface of the magnetic particle brake, in addition, if the weight of the load is more, the greater the torque required, the higher the operating frequency, and the faster the magnetic particle is consumed.

 

How often do you replace the magnetic powder?
In the process of using the magnetic particle clutch and brake, there will be continuous loss, generally not overloaded, the service life can reach 4500-7500 hours, but in some cases it will be extended, normally 1-2 years need to replace the magnetic particle. There is no fixed cycle for the replacement of magnetic powder in the magnetic particle brake, whether it is a magnetic particle brake or a magnetic particle clutch, the replacement of magnetic powder still has to be based on the actual situation. For example, the magnetic particle brake is stuck and does not run, the heating is very serious, or it is obvious that the use efficiency is not as good as before, so you need to consider filling or replacing the magnetic particle.

 

How many grams do we add when we replace the magnetic powder?
0.6KG ADD 10 GRAMS, 1.5KG ADD 20 GRAMS, 2.5KG ADD 33 GRAMS, 5KG ADD 60 GRAMS, 10KG ADD 140 GRAMS, 20KG ADD 225 GRAMS, 40KG ADD 370 GRAMS. (The above is the magnetic powder added to the standard model, and the maintenance machine needs to add 10%~20% more magnetic powder on this basis).

 

What do we need to pay attention to when replacing magnetic particles?
1) When replacing the magnetic particle, be sure to clean up the magnetic particle inside, without any debris and residue, and then add the corresponding magnetic powder according to the size of the model.
2) Add fine magnetic powder (150-250 mesh) below 5KG, and coarse magnetic powder (80-150 mesh) above 5KG.

 

How to replace the magnetic particle brake?
1) Place the magnetic particle brake on the pre-prepared shelf (upside down), with the input shaft facing down and the output shaft facing upward, pay attention to the stable placement of the magnetic particle;
2) Use a wrench to loosen the aluminum cover fixing bolt at the end of the bolt output shaft and take it out;
3) After removing the aluminum cover, loosen the bolts of the stator and take out the stator;
4) After taking out the stator, clean the magnetic powder left inside, and clean the inner wall with a clean rag;
5) After cleaning, please seal the prepared magnetic powder according to the specifications (unit g);
6) After replacing the magnetic powder with the magnetic particle of the magnetic particle brake, please fix the stator, stator bolts, aluminum cover, aluminum cover bolts, etc. according to the original position, this step is very important, if you are careless, it will lead to leakage of magnetic particle.

 

What should I pay attention to when using it to reduce the number of magnetic particle changes?
1) Be careful of moisture. If the magnetic particle is wet, the properties will become unstable, so be careful not to allow oil or moisture to enter the inside. Especially when installed in a gearbox, the oil separates through the shaft
The part invades the inside, so it should be completely sealed with a film;
2) Pay attention to the surface temperature. The surface temperature caused by continuous operation is 90 degrees Celsius or less during operation, and if this value is exceeded, the durability will be greatly reduced. Please be sure to use the above limit temperature as the standard,It must be kept within the allowable sliding working rate when in use. Due to the transportation process or the long storage time, the magnetic powder filled between the two sets of units is scattered on one side, and before starting Stuck due to no excitation;
3) Caused by excessive sealing of magnetic particles during the production process;
