Mechanical expanding shaft chucks, also known as miniature cantilever inflatable chuck , etc., are all types of shafts. There is no need for air source, and the external mechanical force (such as ordinary wrench, pneumatic wrench, hydraulic power, motor, etc.) is transmitted to the expansion block mechanism inside the expansion shaft, and a plurality of external key strips (tiles, whole keys, etc.) on the surface of the expansion shaft are expanded outward to carry external objects. The swelling height is 3mm-50mm, and the height is different according to different requirements, which can be specified in special circumstances.
The mechanical chuck is used in the shaftless receiving and unloading mechanism. The movable devices on both sides of the machine are used to fix the core of the chuck for rewinding and discharging actions. It can withstand high torque and high load-bearing, easy to use and maintain, and the inner wall of the die is not easy to deform and damage.
What are the common faults of mechanical inflatable chucks? What is the solution?
(1) Air bag leakage
Fault manifestations: The pressure of the airbag cannot be maintained after inflation, or the pressure drops too quickly, resulting in the chuck's inability to expand normally.
Cause analysis: due to the long use of the airbag, aging, wear or rupture; Poor valve sealing; The connecting tubing is broken or loose.
Solution: Replace the airbag with a new one; Check the valve seal, replace it if damaged, and make sure the valve is tightened; Carefully inspect the connecting lines, repair or replace the broken parts, and tighten the loose fittings.
(2) The expansion and tightness of the chuck is insufficient
Fault performance: After the airbag is inflated, the chuck can not provide sufficient expansion force, the reel material is not firmly fixed, and it slips or loosens during operation.
Cause analysis: insufficient pressure when the airbag is inflated; The key bar or chuck body is worn, resulting in excessive mating clearance; The overall deformation of the chuck affects the expansion effect.
Solution: Check the pressure of the air source to ensure that the working pressure requirements of the chuck are met, and adjust the pressure reducing valve if necessary; Check the wear of the key bar and the chuck body, and replace it if the wear is serious; For the deformed chuck body, it is corrected or replaced.
(3) The chuck does not return
Fault performance: After the airbag is deflated, the chuck body cannot return to the initial position in time, and the roll material is difficult to remove.
Cause analysis: the key bar or chuck body is stuck by a foreign object; Failure of the return spring; The airbag is not completely deflated, and there is still residual pressure inside.
Solution: Clean the foreign matter on the chuck body and key strip to ensure its smooth movement; Check the return spring, if there is damage or insufficient elasticity, replace the new spring; Check the bleed valve and tubing to ensure that the air inside the airbag is completely exhausted, and if necessary, manually vent the airbag.
(4) The centering accuracy decreases
Fault performance: After the reel material is installed, its center is not centered with the center of the chuck, resulting in vibration or material processing accuracy during the operation of the equipment.
Cause analysis: the chuck body is worn or deformed after long-term use; Improper installation during installation, resulting in poor fit between the chuck and the reel material; The shaft core is worn, which affects the centering accuracy of the chuck.
Solution: Repair or replace the worn or deformed chuck body; Reinstall the chuck to make sure it is in the correct position and fits well with the roll material; Check the wear of the shaft core and replace the shaft core when the wear is severe.
(5) Abnormal noise
Fault performance: the chuck makes abnormal noise during operation.
Cause analysis: the fitting gap between the key bar and the chuck body is too large, resulting in collision; bearing damage; The airbag is inflated or deflated to produce noise from the airflow impact.
Solution: Adjust the mating clearance between the key strip and the chuck body, or replace the relevant parts; Inspect the bearing and replace it if damaged; Install a muffler in the air path to reduce airflow impact noise, and at the same time check the inflation and deflation speed of the airbag to avoid being too fast or too slow.
Mechanical inflatable shaft chucks have the following advantages:
(1) The key bar and airbag are evenly arranged on the surface of the shaft body, unscrew the two ends of the key and press the tablet, and remove the rubber key strip, so that the airbag can be easily replaced, and the maintenance process generally does not exceed ten minutes, which will not delay the production progress.
(2) Because the expansion parts are evenly distributed on the surface of the shaft diameter, the straightness and balance of the whole shaft are good, and the concentricity is high, which is especially suitable for high-speed operation of the machine.
(3) Multiple groups of airbags share the internal intake valve of the inflatable shaft, so there is no eccentricity, ensuring high torque characteristics.
(4) The key bar is bonded by rubber and steel sheet, and the airbag is installed under the key bar, and the steel plate plays a protective role in the airbag when it is expanded and contracted; Each key bar swells up at the same height and stops at the limiting device, so it will not damage the inner wall of the paper core.
(5) The lightweight inflatable shaft is made of lightweight aluminum alloy and carbon fiber tube.
