How To Replace Magnetic Powder For Magnetic Clutches And Magnetic Powder Brakes

The difference between magnetic particle brake and magnetic clutch:
1) The common point between the magnetic particle brake and the magnetic particle clutch is that the torque is transmitted through the magnetic powder chain, and the size of the torque can be adjusted by changing the size of the input current;
2) According to the extension shaft in the connection mode, the double shaft is the magnetic powder clutch, and the single shaft is the magnetic particle brake;
3) According to the installation and use mode, the magnetic particle brake is generally installed at the unwinding end of the coil, and the magnetic particle clutch is installed at the winding end of the coil;
4) Distinguish by function. Magnetic particle brakes are used to stop and brake, while magnetic particle clutches are used to disengage and combine to transmit torque.

 

Classification of magnetic particle clutches:
Dual-shaft magnetic particle clutch, hollow shaft magnetic particle clutch, housing rotating magnetic particle clutch and micro magnetic particle clutch.

 

Classification of magnetic particle brakes:
Single Shaft Magnetic Powder Brakes, Hollow Shaft Magnetic Powder Brakes, Housing Magnetic Powder Brakes, Micro Magnetic Powder Brakes and Low Profile Magnetic Powder Brakes.

 

Because the style used in each environment will be different, the replacement method of each style is also different, the number of magnetic particles and grams required for different models is also different, such as the replacement of the shell and hollow need professional tools to pry open, it is recommended to send it back to the original factory for replacement.

 

Grams used for standard models: (+20% more than the following amount if repairs are required)
0.6KG: 15g;
1.5KG: 20g;
2.5KG: 33g;
5KG: 60 grams;
10KG: 140g;
20KG: 225 grams;
40KG: 370 grams.
Fine magnetic powder for less than 5KG, 150-250 mesh, coarse magnetic powder for more than 5KG, 80-150 mesh.

 

single-shaft magnetic particle brake:
1) First of all, look at how many KGs, and prepare the corresponding magnetic powder according to the number of grams above.
2) Loosen the screws on the back cover of the magnetic powder (the end without a shaft), and then loosen the screws on the file cover to see the magnetic powder inside.
3) Clean up all the magnetic powder and residue debris inside, check whether the accessories are worn, if not, add an appropriate amount of new magnetic powder, and lock the screws back according to the original appearance.

 

Dual-shaft magnetic particle clutch
1) First of all, look at how many KGs, and prepare the corresponding magnetic powder according to the number of grams above.
2) Confirm the direction of output: the output is the output on the side of the line, the force is not on the line side, find the output end and see that there are ribs inside is the file cover, loosen the screws on this side, and the file cover can be disassembled to see the magnetic powder.
3) Clean up all the magnetic powder and residue debris inside, check whether the lower drum is worn, if not, add an appropriate amount of new magnetic powder, and lock the screws back as they were.

 

When replacing magnetic particles, you need to pay attention to the following points:
1) When replacing the magnetic particle, the old magnetic powder inside must be cleaned up.
2) In the state that the magnetic particle is not overloaded, the life of the magnetic particle is generally 4500-7500 hours (normal use is that it takes about 2-3 years to replace the magnetic particle, and the strength will be more stable, but the replacement needs to be based on the actual situation).
3) When selecting the torque, relative slip speed and slip power to about 50%-70% of the rated value, try to choose a larger model.

 

Magnetic particle clutch/brake installation precautions:
1) When the machine is sliding, a little spark may ignite the rotating internal components, please do not use it in a flammable and explosive environment with grease, nor do you use it next to flammable materials such as cotton yarn or cloth, and pay attention to the problem that the sliding efficiency is reduced after separation.
2) Do not install the magnetic particle clutch in dust, high temperature, humidity, cold, wind and rain, and do not directly install it in a place with vibration or impact, otherwise the equipment will be damaged, malfunction or performance will deteriorate.
3) Please do not do maintenance or touch work when the machine is turning, otherwise it may cause electric shock or burns, when installing, disassembling or debugging, please cut off the power supply, and make sure that the rotating parts have stopped.
4) When assembling, the bolt should be locked, and it is best to use the bolt with a higher grade to avoid the bolt breaking and hurting people, and when locking the bolt, it is best to use screw glue, spring washer or similar workpiece to lock; In addition, because the rotating parts and fixed parts of the clutch and brake rotate relative to each other, the fasteners must be firmly assembled to ensure the safe operation of the machine.
5) Reliable connection of circuit and machinery, and proper insulation, the specifications of the wire connected to the load must meet the requirements of the current carrying capacity, if the current carrying capacity of the wire is not enough, the insulation layer on the wire will melt and lose the insulation effect, in this case, it may also cause leakage, short circuit or fire.
