Which Rollers Are Used in The Textile Industry

- May 15, 2025-

Roller is a kind of cylindrical mechanical parts widely used in industry, mainly composed of shaft head and tube, usually made of metal, rubber, plastic and other materials with high stability and strength. In its working process, it mainly relies on rotary motion and pressure action to realize the transmission, processing or handling of objects.
In the textile industry, rollers can be used to create patterns, embossing or pile effects on the surface of fabrics. For example, high-end fabrics such as velvet and sofa fabrics often require embossing or embossing by roller technology. Among other things, textile embossing rollers are able to emboss patterns on the surface of fabrics to improve the decorative and tactile properties. The textile industry includes several processes such as spinning, weaving, printing and dyeing, and finishing.

Spinning stage: usually includes steps such as opening, carding, merging, coarse sanding and fine sanding.
1) Roller
Used to draw fibers and control yarn fineness, it is the core component of spinning machine.
2) Skin roller
One of the main parts of the drafting device of the spinning machine, it is centered on a steel roller, which cooperates with the steel collar and steel wire ring to pressurize the fibers and twist them into yarn, and the material is mostly rubber or polyurethane.
(3) cleaning roller
Located in the opening machine or card, through high-speed rotation to remove impurities in the fiber.
4)Combing roller
Spinning machine in the raw or cooked strip decomposition into single fibers, impurities and fiber separation, so that the fibers are arranged in parallel. Requirements for combing roller speed, both to break down the fibers, but also to minimize fiber damage, reduce fiber bending hooks, and have a certain role in the removal of impurities, but also requires that the fibers are easy to transfer.

Weaving stage: including the preparation of yarn and weft, and weaving process.
1) Sizing roller
Sizing the warp yarns in the sizing machine to enhance the abrasion resistance.
2) Warping roller
Winds the warp yarns evenly onto the warp beam to ensure uniform tension during weaving.
3)Winding roller
Take up the finished fabric at the end of the loom and keep the even speed of winding.
4) Warp feed roller
Controls the warp yarn release speed to match the weaving rhythm.
5) Tension roller
Regulates the tension of warp yarns to prevent slackness or breakage.

Printing, dyeing and finishing stage: printing need to use the printing roller, the pattern will be transferred to the fabric; dyeing process may use the guide roller, guide the fabric through the dye; in the drying stage, the drying rollers are used to transfer heat to dry the fabric; finishing may include the stenter; the use of stenter rollers to adjust the width of the fabric, and may also be used to the calendering rollers to increase the gloss of the fabric.
1) Printing roller
Surface engraving patterns, in the textile printing process, for the pattern pattern evenly transferred to the fabric, to ensure that the printing effect of clear and uniform. (Such as circular screen printing).
2) Fabric guide roller
Guide the fabric through the dyeing tank, washing unit, etc. to avoid wrinkles.
3) Roller
Squeeze the fabric to remove excess water or dyeing liquid to improve processing efficiency.
4) Drying Roller
Steam-heated metal roller for drying wet fabrics, accelerating the drying of fabrics through heat conduction and ensuring the uniformity of drying effect.
5)Stenter roller
It is used to hold the fabric edge in the stenter, adjust the width and stabilize the size.
6) Polishing roller
Rolling the fabric under high temperature and high pressure to improve the surface gloss and smoothness.
7)Setting roller
Sizing roller is used for heat-setting treatment of fabrics to ensure the stability of fabric size and shape and improve the quality of finished products.
