What To Do If The Magnetic Powder Brake On The Packaging Machine Fails

When the magnetic powder clutch on the packaging machine fails, the following 5 steps are generally carried out to troubleshoot the fault point:
1) Check the power supply and connections
First of all, make sure that the power connection of the magnetic particle brake is normal and there is no loose or open circuit. Inspect the power cord for signs of breakage or aging. At the same time, see if the connection to the controller and other devices is secure.
For example, if the power cord plug is not plugged tightly, it may cause unstable power transmission, which can affect the operation of the magnetic particle brake.
2) Check the amount of magnetic particle
Insufficient or uneven distribution of magnetic particles in a magnetic particle brake can lead to failure. Open the brake housing and check the condition of the magnetic particles. If the amount of magnetic particles is too small, you need to replenish the appropriate amount of magnetic particles and ensure that the magnetic particles are evenly distributed.
For example, long-term use may cause the magnetic particles to wear or lose, affecting the braking effect.
3) Check the friction surface
Observe the friction surface for wear, oil or debris. The friction surface with serious wear needs to be replaced, and the oil or debris should be cleaned up in time. For example, oil contamination on the friction surface can reduce friction and cause brake failure.
4) Check the controller settings
Confirm whether the controller is set correctly, including current, voltage, etc. Incorrect settings may cause the magnetic particle brake to not work properly. For example, if the current is set too low, it may not provide enough braking force.
5) Check the heat dissipation
Magnetic particle brakes generate heat during operation, which can cause failure if heat dissipation is poor. Check whether the cooling fan is running normally and whether the cooling channel is blocked. For example, a faulty fan can cause the brake to overheat, affecting performance.

The role of magnetic particle clutch on the packaging machine:
The magnetic particle clutch is generally used for winding, which can be used on the winding packaging machine to adjust the torque tension of buffer starting, overload protection, so that the winding product can be completely winded. The magnetic particle brake is used during unwinding to prevent the unwinding speed from being too fast due to inertia.

 

The composition structure of the magnetic particle clutch:
The magnetic particle clutch consists of two rotating components. The external component of the magnetic particle clutch is the rotor, and the internal component is the housing assembly. The rotor is the torque input part and is installed on the shaft of the magnetic particle clutch machine. The housing assembly is the torque output part and is driven by gears, pulleys, or sprockets connected to the notch of the device.

 

The role of magnetic particles in the magnetic particle clutch:
The magnetic particle of the magnetic particle clutch is located between the outer diameter of the rotor and the inner diameter of the drive cylinder. When there is no current in the coil, the loose particles are freely distributed between the rotor and the drive cylinder. When the coil is applied with an electric current, a magnetic field is generated in the stator area, and the magnetic particles are arranged along the magnetic field lines, connecting the rotor and the drive cylinder. As the current is added, the magnetic field becomes stronger and the connection is enhanced.

 

Things to pay attention to when installing a magnetic particle clutch:
1) The magnetic powder clutch can be coaxially installed, or it can be installed on a separate shaft, in which the axial direction must be fixed, the driving part and the driven part are not allowed to have axial channeling, and when the sub-shaft is installed, the coaxiality between the active part and the driven part of the shaft should not be greater than 0.1mm.
2) The installation of the magnetic particle clutch should be kept away from the fuel tank, water tank or the place where the air is too humid, or take effective measures to avoid the performance of the magnetic particle from being affected by moisture.
3) The newly installed magnetic particle clutch, in order to make the magnetic powder uniform and stable performance, should be domesticated first, if there is no acclimation condition at the installation site, it is recommended not to put into formal operation immediately after installation, but should be under the conditions that can be achieved, after an appropriate time of trial operation, and then put into formal operation.
